Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
Barramurra Brushstrokes
Barramurra Brushstrokes was a whole school exhibition displaying and celebrating creative arts at Barramurra Public School. It was held on Wednesday the 6th of August, and it was an amazing showcase of the talent, persistence and dedication of our students and staff.
In Term 2, every grade across the school studied a famous artist and learned their techniques and styles. Kindergarten studied Kandinsky, Year 1 learnt about Andy Warhol and Pop Art, Year 2 explored Ken Done, Year 3 discovered Bronwyn Bancroft, Year 4 painted like Claude Monet, Year 5 were inspired by Van Gogh, Year 6 looked at Picasso, and our support unit created works inspired by Matisse.
Throughout the term students created three artworks using different mediums and techniques. These artworks were then exhibited at our Education Week Art Show, Barramurra Brushstrokes. Each grade carefully designed a creative display to exhibit the wonderful artworks for families and friends to see.
Each class created a class canvas as part of an art auction. These canvases were well received by our community. Over $2000 was raised through the auction.
Throughout the afternoon, performing arts was also showcased with performances from our dance groups, the choir, and even our school band’s very first performance!
Colour Run
On Friday 26th September, Barramurra came alive with colour as our students participated in our Colour Run.
Organised by our amazing P&C, the day was a highlight of 2025 as our students ran through obstacles, jumped in bubbles and embraced colour!
An outstanding fundraising effort was achieved from this event, raising over $55000!
A huge thank you to our P&C for the organisation for the event and to our community for all their support!
State Girl Relay team
Our Junior Girls' 4x100m relay team had an outstanding year.
After success at Macarthur Zone, then Sydney South West, our team of 4 superstars progressed to the State Athletics competition at Homebush.
Finishing at the 22nd fastest team in all of NSW is truly an amazing achievement for this group of talented athletes!
"Barramurra Public School is always such a welcoming place. It is amazing to see the teachers greeting students at the gate, knowing the students by name and checking in every morning.” — a parent of Barramurra Public School
